Ing. Roberto Rodio

Roberto was born in Rivoli (Italy) in 1984. He earned his Bachelor degree in Physical Engineering (2006, cum laude) at Politecnico di Torino and obtained the International Master of Science in Nanotechnology for integrated systems (2008, cum laude) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne, the Grenoble Institute of Technology and the Politecnico di Torino. This gave him the possibility of living and studying abroad for 18 months visiting three different countries. He had been doing research for his Master’s thesis at the IBM-Stanford spintronics Science and Applications Center (Almaden, CA) studying Vanadium-compounds’ phase transitions. Later Roberto began doctoral studies in Torino on statistical physics and neural computation. He joined CDI-Italia to broaden its knowledge in management and business so to be able, in the long run, to create in Italy those opportunities many of his peers seek abroad. He started his path as a specialist of lean systems during his mission for CDI-Italia in the Epta Refrigeration Group and continued his career in the same company after graduation. At present, he is in charge of implementing the lean practice coordinating resources from different functions within the Group. Educated in an international and diverse milieu, Roberto had been an active member of AEGEE during university (the major European students’ association) and served several times as volunteer for international events: he was assistant to the national Olympic committee of Ukraine during the XX Olympic Winter Games and worked as facilitator during the Torino electronic-town-meeting in 2009 and 2006. Roberto has a keen interest in the world scenery of culture, politics and science and is a passionate photographer. He was appointed as APCI Social Event Responsible 09/10.
Roberto è nato a Rivoli (TO) nel 1984. Si è laureato con lode in ingegneria fisica presso il Politecnico di Torino nel 2006 e ha conseguito la laurea specialistica internazionale in nanotecnologie presso i tre politecnici di Torino, Grenoble e Losanna nel 2008, con lode. Questa esperienza gli ha dato la possibilità di vivere e studiare per diciotto mesi in tre paesi diversi. Ha svolto la sua tesi presso l’IBM-Stanford spintronics Science and Applications Center di Almaden in California studiando le transizioni di fase dell’ossido di vanadio. Successivamente, ha intrapreso gli studi dottorali a Torino occupandosi di fisica statistica e neuro-computazione. Roberto è diventato allievo del CDI Italia per ampliare le sue competenze in management e business così da poter creare in Italia le opportunità che molti dei suoi coetanei cercano all’estero. Durante la missione presso il gruppo Epta Refrigeration ha cominciato il suo percorso come specialista di sistemi lean e ha proseguito la sua carriera nella stessa azienda dopo il diploma CDI-Italia. Attualmente il suo lavoro consiste nell’implementare le pratiche lean coordinando risorse interfunzionali in tutte le società del gruppo. Formatosi in un ambiente internazionale e stimolante, Roberto è stato membro attivo di AEGEE (la più grande associazione studentesca europea) durante l’università. Ha partecipato come volontario per diversi eventi internazionali : è stato assistente della delegazione ucraina durante i XX Giochi Olimpici Invernali e facilitatore di tavolo durante i due Electronic Town Meeting di Torino, nel 2006 e 2009. Roberto ha un vivo interesse per lo scenario internazionale della cultura, politica e scienza ed è un fotografo appassionato. Attualmente è social events responsible – Italia dell’APCI, per il mandato 2009/2010 e svolge la sua missione in Epta Refrigeration Group occupandosi di lean production.
